EVENING TRAINING (ACADEMY) Job description
Job title: Evening training (academy) Football Coach
Location: Bede’s Senior School, Upper Dicker, BN27 3QH
Responsible to: Swerve Soccer Club Committee & Director
When: School Term Time, Thursday Evenings 17:30-20:00
Role Accountabilities & Key Duties
To plan, prepare and evaluate all sessions.
To deliver coaching sessions to 5-13 year olds
To be very enthusiastic about player development in the younger ages.
To make sure sessions are fully prepared for and have a completed session plan prior to every session in conjunction with the syllabus.
To have a key understanding and experience of dealing with players aged 5-13
To identify the needs of individual groups and tailor your delivery as appropriate.
To attend all coaches’ development days.
To attend training courses and continuing professional development sessions when required.
To monitor and keep up-to-date certificates, licenses and qualifications, administered by the FA
To adhere to safeguarding guidelines, including undertaking risk assessments and reporting any incidents/accidents to your Line Manager immediately.
To act as an ambassador for Swerve Soccer at all times
General Duties & Accountabilities
To support Swerve Soccer in their aims and objectives at all times.
To ensure compliance with all relevant Club policies, including health and safety policies.
To ensure compliance with all relevant legal, regulatory, ethical and social requirements.
To keep confidential any information gained regarding the Club and its personnel.
To maintain a flexible approach to work at all times.
To undertake other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time.

Qualifications
Level 2
Valid FA Safeguarding Certificate
Valid FA Emergency Aid Certificate
Valid and accepted enhanced FA DBS CRC (Criminal Background Check) or be willing to undertake this check if successful
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
An extensive knowledge and experience of the football industry and the professional game in a similar or related role
A dynamic coach, excellent technician / demonstrator
Ability to relate effectively to the age group
IT skills to include a high level of competence using Excel,
Word, Access and PowerPoint skills
Good overall level of numeracy and literacy
Personal Qualities
A student of the game, continuously looking to improve and develop self and others
A dynamic, hardworking and enthusiastic individual
A strong motivator, with high enthusiasm
A good disciplinarian
Proactive attitude within the role
Job Type: Part-time
Part-time hours: 2.5 per week
Salary: £60.00-£80.00 per evening

Job title: Holiday Camp Football Coach
Location: Brighton & Hove (and surrounding areas)
Responsible to: Swerve Soccer Club Committee & Director
Job Purpose
To coordinate and deliver high-quality training classes and camps that increases participation and develops performances through engaging training sessions.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
To create and implement a high quality coaching programme to maximise participation and performance of players of a range of abilities from ages 4-18
To undertake the necessary planning for each activity session to ensure the programme demonstrates progression throughout
To co-ordinate the delivery of an innovative recreational programme of to attract new participants of all levels and create pathways for continued participation
To ensure all equipment associated with the coaching programme is correctly set up, maintained, stored and returned on completion of the coaching programme
Promote and increase awareness of Swerve Soccer within Sussex
To adhere to the SS Code of Ethics and Conduct for Sports Coaches and also the relevant National Governing Body Code of Conduct
To provide appropriate mentoring, support and guidance to other coaches, players and student volunteers
To continually monitor and evaluate all sessions, activities and programmes and provide the Club with concise progress reports and training logs linked to agreed work programmes
To take responsibility for their own continuous professional development and attend relevant training courses to improve their coaching delivery
To provide 1:1 and small group training highlighting strengths and areas of improvements of players through detailed reports

Qualifications
Essential
Hold a FA Level 1 certifications or higher
Driving Licence
Desirable
Hold a FA Level Two Coaching Qualification;
Hold a valid First Aid Certificate;
Hold a valid safeguarding certificate
Hold a recent Enhanced DBS check
Experience
Essential
A minimum of 1 years sports coaching experience in a paid or voluntary capacity, ideally in a range of environments including schools/clubs/community/third level settings;
Desirable
2 years or more sports coaching experience in a paid or voluntary capacity, ideally in a range of environments including schools/clubs/community/third level settings;
Skills & Competencies
Essential
Demonstrate strong leadership qualities and have the ability to delegate effectively
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong planning ability with excellent organisational skills
Ability and willingness to work outside of normal hours including evening and weekends if necessary
Must be self-motivated with the ability to enthuse a wide range of participants

Computer literate
Must be capable of using Word and Excel
Desirable
Sound understanding of after school clubs and the role of an after school club coordinator.

Salary: £10-£17 per hour (based on experience)
